My role
My role
The MHF funds NMHW almost entirely out of monies raised specifically for the purpose. Some of this funding has come in the form of grant-aid, which has been used to meet the costs from various aspects of the week, including central administrative costs and the production of the various Haynes Mini Manuals; some has come as contributions in kind (e.g. mailing services, design services and PR support). Organisations which have helped in this way are our major sponsors. We express our sincere gratitude by listing them below:
We have also been fortunate to receive support from a number of other organisations who are committed to working to improve the health of men. Some were kind enough to include our original letter of invitation to participate in NMHW with mailings of their own. A number of organisations specialising in the field of long-term conditions have given freely of their advice and more tangibly, by offering to supply resources that can be used at a local level (information can be found by following this link: Resources). NMHW2006 would not have been possible without the goodwill and commitment of these supporting organisations: The 5-A-Day Programme www.5ADAY.nhs.uk A S Biss www.asbiss.com The Comic Company www.comiccompany.co.uk CragRats www.cragrats.com Diabetes UK www.diabetes.org.uk East Lincolnshire PCT www.eastlincs-pct.nhs.uk/ Men's Health Forum Ireland www.mensproject.org Men's Health Forum Scotland www.mhfs.org.uk Men's Health Forum Cymru www.menshealthforum.org.uk The National Audit Office www.nao.org.uk The National Office of Statistics www.statistics.gov.uk NHS Direct www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk NHS Smoking Helpline www.givingupsmoking.co.uk QUIT www.quit.org.uk
