My role
My role
A leaflet has been produced specially for National Men's Health Week by the Consumer Health Information Centre (CHIC), the Doctor Patient Partnership (DPP) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB).
'Checking Your Nuts Is Just the Start' is aimed at helping men choose the right healthcare advice at the right time. The leaflet highlights services men can tap into if they have a minor illness they want to treat themselves, or if they're worried about a more serious problem. It covers what you can expect from: casualty departments, GP's surgeries, NHS Direct, NHS Walk-In Centres, pharmacists, health food shops and the internet
Chairman of DPP, Dr Simon Fradd, said that the much-needed new leaflet begins to fill a gap in targeted health information for men. 'Men need information delivered to them in terms they can relate to - just as women do. There is very little targeted information out there for men.'
