Men's Health Forum: Chief Executive

The Men’s Health Forum is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to serve as its new Chief Executive. 

As the leading voice for male health in England, Wales, and Scotland, the Forum is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of men and boys by addressing the issues and inequalities affecting them. The Forum is a charity and aims to improve information, support, services and outcomes for men and boys.

As Chief Executive, you will be responsible for driving the organisation forward by developing its priorities, policies, campaigns, and budget, and ensuring that these plans and commitments are implemented effectively. You will represent the Forum to outside organisations and work closely with them to achieve shared goals.

Additionally, you will lead the Forum's public affairs strategy and deliver impactful campaigns, and oversee the securing of funding through successful grant applications and partnerships. You will also be responsible for overseeing the governance of the Forum and managing its financial administration, business support, commercial management, and product development, in conjunction with the Trustees.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, a passion for improving men's health, and a commitment to the Forum's aims. The role is part-time, requiring two and a half days a week, with a salary of £26,000 per annum and access to a contributory pension scheme. Leave entitlement is pro-rata for part-time employees based on 25 days per annum plus the 8 normal bank/public holidays (for a 35 hour working week).

Job Description

As the Chief Executive of the Men's Health Forum, you will have a unique opportunity to drive change and improve the health and wellbeing of men and boys. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • shaping the organisation's direction through development and implementation of its priorities, policies, campaigns and budget, all of which will be agreed with the Trustees 
  • representing the Men's Health Forum to a wider audience, including participating in academic groups, roundtables, campaigns and research
  • working in collaboration with other organisations supporting men's health, including Global Action on Men's Health
  • championing the cause of men's health through a dynamic public affairs strategy, including interviews and broadcasts, responding to consultations, and advocating for a Men's Health Strategy
  • securing funding and support through successful grant applications and corporate partnerships
  • ensuring the governance of the organisation is in good standing, in partnership with the Trustees
  • overseeing financial administration, business support and product development, ultimately positioning the organization for long-term success.
