Alcohol has been blamed for a rise in the number of people with liver disease. Figures from Public Health England show men are twice are likely to be diagnosed.
The regional figures from PHE show huge variations. Four times as many men die from liver disease in Blackpool as in central Bedfordshire. Many of these are working age men.
