England's CMO Dame Sally Davies published her latest annual report on: The health of the 51%: Women. The Men's Health Forum CEO Martin Tod welcomed her annual report in a letter and thanked her for taking a gendered approach to health. He concluded the letter by saying: 'We would strongly welcome a similar report on men and boys’ health next year' .

On 18 February Dame Sally Davies wrote Martin back thanking him for his letter and promising to keep our request in mind when deciding on a future report. We were also delighted to read that the CMO wrote:

As you note, men and boys sometimes have unique and distinct physical and mental health needs, and it is important that we ensure those needs are ment, and that the health system is mindful of the relationship between gender and health.

The Men’s Health Forum need your support

It’s tough for men to ask for help but if you don’t ask when you need it, things generally only get worse. Especially during a major pandemic like Covid-19. So we’re asking.

Men appear more likely to get Covid-19 and far, far more likely to die from it. The Men's Health Forum are working hard pushing for more action on this from government, from health professionals and from all of us. Why are men more affected and what can we do about it? We need the data. We need the research. We need the action. Currently we're the only UK charity doing this - please help us.

Here’s our fund-raising page - please chip in if you can.
